Wladimiro A. Woyno R.
Wladimiro A. Woyno R. is a projection designer and technologist passionate about live performance. Originally from Bogota, Colombia, he holds an MFA in Design from Yale School of Drama and a BFA in Design and Production from the University of British Columbia. A devoted collaborator with the creative teams of several companies, he is often prototyping tools, images and visual environments that engage the sensory imagination.
With a technical background in stage lighting, video and carpentry, his work explores the adaptation of new technologies into the theatrical tradition. Interested in the development of theatre spaces, show control and scenography he is an avid learner, constantly inventing and exploring.
His credits include Since I Can Remember (The Wooster Group), Kiss (Yale Repertory Theatre, USA); Parade (Nederlands Dans Theater, Netherlands); The Last Voyage of Donald Crowhurst (Ghost River Theatre, Canada); This American Wife (Next Door @ NYTW); Salome (M3 Productions, Brooklyn); If Pretty Hurts Ugly Must Be a Muhfucka, Bulgaria! Revolt!, The Merchant of Venice (Yale School of Drama, USA); RE:UNION (Yale Cabaret); Gallery+Lumia (Yale Art Gallery); Ziriguidum (Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Canada); and Sometime Between Now and When the Sun Goes Supernova (Theatre Junction, Canada).
He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Theatre Production and Design Area at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts.
He is currently an Associate Member and a Technical Artist at The Wooster Group.

Awards and Grants | 2018: Yale University Dexter Wood Luke Memorial Prize Awarded to third-year students whose sense of curiosity and sense of joy have enriched the lives of their colleagues at Yale School of Drama 2018: Third Place at the The Reality of Global Climate Change Hackathon at Yale’s Center for the Collaborative Arts and Media in collaboration with Michael Costagliola. 2016: DMCA Interdisciplinary Arts Awards support collaborative arts projects by Yale University students, both graduate and undergraduate.
